What We Do

Pals4Pets offer a complete range of pet care services. We believe that we were the UK’s first providers of licensed dog boarding in private homes, and have sat on a Government Committee in recognition of our experience.

The reputation of Pals4Pets is based on high standards of care towards animals and courtesy and consideration towards clients. Pals4Pets has a code of conduct which franchisees are asked to adhere to.

Pals4Pets was conceived in 1998 and began franchising in 2002, once it had proved itself over four years of trading. The Directors are confident that they have been successful on two counts: conceiving and running the founder franchise and by helping franchisees start and run their businesses. The vast experience gained can only benefit you and should enable you to make money more quickly than by starting a business on your own.

Your Role

You will need to be an animal lover, a caring individual, with a passion to run your own business. Nursing, sales or marketing experience is not essential, but could be beneficial. Good organisational skills, basic computer knowledge and a driving license. A self-motivated individual who enjoys working on their own, although contact with people is never far away. Ability to meet new challenges and remain calm when faced with changes or problems.

Your Territory

Your initial franchise fee will buy you an exclusive and protected territory with sufficient potential clients to give your business the best possible start as well as capacity to grow. We believe that the size of territory offered is larger than any other in the pet-care franchise market.

Your territory will provide you with in excess of 100,000 ‘ABC1’ households. This is an advertising term used to describe householders who represent the Country’s wealthiest population. Pals4Pets research indicates that it has created a niche market for itself within this client group - people who lead busy and successful lives, have a high disposable income, require regular bookings and need a reliable, personal and responsive service. Demand naturally peaks at holiday times, but regular and repeat bookings help to create a steady cash flow.

Training and Support

Your initial training will consist of 8 days. Some of the training will be at Pals4Pets head office in North London and some in your own territory.

This will induct you into marketing, sales, dealing with clients, health and safety, financial systems, policies and procedures as well as health and safety, negotiating with local authorities, risk assessments, record keeping, advertising, recruiting and interviewing carers and general office duties.

Head office will continue its’ support after the initial training and remains on-hand throughout the terms of the contract. Training also covers a partner, friend or relative if they are going to run the business with you. At the end of training you will be presented with a manual, that contains all the documentation you need to start your own business.

There are regular meetings throughout the year with other franchisees, giving you all the benefits of being part of a larger organisation.

The Rewards

Pals4Pets is a low-cost franchise at £12,000 plus VAT. We also ask for £5K working capital to go into a bank account to pay for first year expenses (this amount is not subject to VAT).

With hard work and determination you should be able to cover your initial investment within 2-years of beginning trading. The initial franchise contract is for a 5 year period by which time you should have a successful business that is giving you a salary and that could be sold at a profit, giving you a nest egg for the future.
